An Orange County judge accused of fatally shooting his wife at their Anaheim Hills home is now standing trial as opening statements are set to begin Wednesday.

As an Orange County judge, who a short time earlier had admitted to fatally shooting his wife during a heated argument at their Anaheim Hills home, was being processed into police custody, his thoughts apparently took a turn toward how he might address the jury at his own future trial.

Former judge Jeffrey Ferguson is on trial for the murder of his wife, with the prosecution alleging intentional shooting and the defense claiming it was accidental.
