Hamas said it will release Israeli hostages as initially planned after holding “positive” talks with mediators, according to a statement by the militant group on Thursday.

CAIRO — Hamas said Thursday it would release three more Israeli hostages as planned, paving the way toward resolving a major dispute over the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The two foes are on track for a hostages-for-prisoners exchange on Saturday after a dispute that risked a resumption of fighting.
