Wild weather on the Oregon coast may have gotten even wilder than expected late Monday night when a tornado hit the land near Rockaway Beach, according to a preliminary report from the National Weather Service.

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN) — A trained weather spotter reported a tornado yesterday evening around 9:24 pm in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. According to the National Weather Service, the KRTX weather radar, located in Portland, showed a “fairly strong velocity couplet” in the area at the same time the tornado was reported.
