High school cross country and track and field postseason tournaments will see an increase of divisions beginning with the 2025-26 school year.

The move was unanimously approved by the OHSAA's board of directors. Track and field will add two divisions, increasing from three to five. Cross country will expand from three to four divisions.

The expansion for track and field and cross country follows the OHSAA’s recent expansion in several team sports, including basketball, baseball, soccer, softball and girls volleyball.
