The Three Mile Island Nuclear plant, home of the worst nuclear accident in U.S. history, would restart under a deal in which Microsoft purchases all its power.

Constellation Energy Corp., the biggest US operator of reactors, expects Three Mile Island to go back into service in 2028.

Constellation Energy Corp. says it has signed a 20-year agreement with Microsoft under which the technology company will purchase power from Three Mile Island Unit 1.

Constellation described the agreement with Microsoft as the largest power purchase agreement that the nuclear plant operator has ever signed.

Under the deal, Microsoft will purchase energy from the renewed plant to power its data centers. Constellation has been planning to revive a unit of the five-decades-old nuclear power facility in Pennsylvania that was shut in 2019 due to operational reasons.
