Kanpur: Three masked burglars carried out the heist at a tannery owner's residence in Jajmau Defence Colony during the late hours of Friday night.

Situated on the banks of River Ganges, Jajmau is an industrial suburb of Kanpur. The excavations conducted here by the Archaeological Survey of India suggest that it dates back to c. 1300-1200 BCE.
