Lawmakers say tourism sector already coming up with holiday packages ahead of band’s arrival in April, but call for more transport options.

The tourism industry is expecting Coldplay's concerts next year to give the sector a boost, with hotels likely to benefit as fans flock to the city.

From January to June, accommodation providers in Kaohsiung received about 134,000 visitors from Hong Kong and Macau, a 59 percent increase over the same period last year, it said, indicating that the territories are one of the city’s largest sources of international tourists.
