The North Carolina Army installation originally named for Confederate Gen. Braxton Bragg was rechristened Fort Liberty in 2023 amid a push to strip symbols of the Confederacy from public spaces.
The Army base is now named after Private First Class Roland Bragg, who served with the Army during World War II.
Bragg is back,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said after signing a memorandum on the name change Monday night.
