(KABC) -- Southern California residents who were looking up at the skies early Friday were treated to a dazzling display as SpaceX launched 23 satellites into orbit aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.

And lift off, go Falcon go starling. Vehicles pitching down range. Phase one propulsion is nominal. Power and telemetry nominal. Falcon 9 is supersonic. Max Q. And Billa started. Main engine cut off.

Liftoff is scheduled for 8:34 p.m. ET tonight (Jan. 29).
