EA says Dragon Age
‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard’ Performed Half As Well As Expected, Says EA
A new game, particularly one ten years in the making after a GOTY-winning sequel, underperforming by a full 50% is dire. You’ll also notice from the wording there that it says “engaged” not “sold,” as this number includes those who might have played via EA Play. So sales are likely not much above a million.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Had Far Fewer Players Than EA Expected
The Veilguard and EA Sports FC 25 underperformed, with Dragon Age specifically falling 50% short of expectations.
Dragon Age sales 50% less than expected as EA FC 25 sales disappoint
This also means EA has cut its expectations for the 2025 fiscal year. Originally, it was aiming to make $7.5 billion to $7.8 billion (about £6.1 billion to £6.33 billion) by the end of March, but that target has dropped to a range of $7 billion to $7.15 billion (about £5.7 billion to £5.8 billion).
