Dylan Larkin scored two goals and the surging Detroit Red Wings beat the Florida Panthers 5-2 on Thursday night. Larkin, Jonatan Berggren and Patrick Kane had power-play goals for Detroit, which also got a goal from Marco Kasper.

With the Panthers getting into penalty trouble in the second period, the Red Wings made them pay a second time when Dylan Larkin went to the crease and re-directed a tape-to-tape centering feed from Patrick Kane through traffic into the cage to make it 2-1 at 7:52.

The Detroit Red Wings have more work to do, and that labor must -- from their perspective -- begin on Thursday night when they visit the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Fla.
