Nearly six-in-ten Americans (59%) say they approve of Trump increasing efforts to deport people who are living in the U.S. illegally.

Public opinion on President Trump’s early immigration policies in his second term reveals deep partisan divides, according to Pew Research Center. While 47% say deportation efforts are appropriate, 44% believe they’re excessive, and 59% overall support stricter border security, including increased military presence.

The president’s moves reach far beyond an effort to clamp down on illegal immigration.
