Justin Okoronkwo, a linebacker who played for Alabama as a true freshman during the 2024 season, has committed to coach Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks, he announced on social media Friday. “New Home !!!” he wrote in a post that included an edited photo of him wearing a South Carolina jersey.

For the fifth time since it opened, Alabama football has lost a linebacker, this time Justin Okoronkwo, to the transfer portal.

Auburn football brought in its fourth quarterback over the offseason signing Tanner Bailey per 247sports. A former Class of 2022 recruit out of Gordo, Bailey signed with South Carolina and retired from football in January of 2024.

The original plan for Hugh Freeze and the Auburn coaching staff was to sign two transfer quarterbacks this offseason. Freeze achieved that goal by landing former Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold and ex-Stanford quarterback Ashton Daniels.
