Utah leaders, locals and longtime attendees of the Sundance Film Festival are making their final push to keep the world-renowned independent film festival in the state as its directors consider uprooting it.

Utah-based director Cole Webley's journey to the big screen has come full circle after recently debuting his first-ever feature film at the Sundance Film Festival. State of play: The drama, "Omaha," the only movie in this year's festival filmed in Utah,

“Omaha” follows a recently widowed father (John Magaro), who takes his two children (Molly Belle Wright, Wyatt Solis) on a road trip from Hawthorne, Nevada, to Omaha, Nebraska, in a last-ditch effort to rebuild their lives. Utah’s varied terrain served as the perfect backdrop for the family’s multistate trip across the I-80 East.
