Outside of a small portion of Warren County, most of Greater Cincinnati is considered to be in a "severe" or "moderate" drought. While not listed in the fire marshal's list of impacted counties, a burn ban was ordered in Butler County by its own fire chiefs' association, according to a Facebook post from the city of Middletown.

Persistent dry conditions in St. Joseph County have increased the risk for fires to get out of hand. A burn ban went into effect Sept. 20.
