As of Thursday morning, firefighters had the footprint of the 6,625-acre blaze, dubbed the Border 2 Fire, 100%, according to Cal Fire.

Border 2 fire prompts some San Diego County school closures due to air concerns
The San Diego County Office of Education said Friday that Eastlake High, Eastlake Middle, Olympian High, East Hills Academy, High Tech High Chula Vista and Arroyo Vista Charter School would also be closed. Southwestern College said faculty, students and staff would move to remote work Friday due to the fire.
