WASHINGTON, D.C. — Three people with connections to Ohio were among the 67 victims of Wednesday night’s deadly midair collision between an Army helicopter and an American Airlines flight from Kansas, reports say.

Authorities said all aboard the flight died after the fiery collision with the helicopter broke the aircraft apart and sent it plunging in three sections into the icy Potomac River below. Three U.S. Army service members aboard the helicopter also died,

A 20-year-old student at an Ohio university was among those killed Wednesday night when an American Airlines passenger jet collided with an Army helicopter in Washington D.C. Grace Maxwell was a junior at Cedarville University.

Elizabeth Anne Keys, 33, was flying back to Washington D.C. from a work trip before the plane crashed that night, her partner of six years, David Seidman, told The Enquirer.
