Lucid's new electric SUV can access Tesla's charging network, but its sedan sibling is stuck with the CCS port for the foreseeable future.

After delivering the first production vehicles to U.S. customers last month, the Lucid Gravity became the first non-Tesla electric vehicle to be sold with an NACS charge port. From January 31, it will gain access to the Tesla Supercharger network with no adapter necessary.

Lucid Gravity is capable of bi-directional charging, supporting up to 80 A at 19.2 kW with the NACS charge port. RangeXchange, first available on Lucid Air, also enables charging another electric vehicle directly via the NACS connector with an optional RangeXchange cable.

All U.S.-bound Lucid Gravity SUVs have the Tesla-based NACS port, and charging at up to 400 kw assures 200 miles of range in 12 minutes.

It’s been just about a month since the first Lucid Gravity SUVs began arriving to customers, but the automaker is already rolling out a change that promises to be a major ease of use improvement for owners.
