Former Missouri sheriff, ousted last year for engaging in “criminal street gang” activity, oversaw a department that had missing money and misplaced or lost firearms and bullets, new state audit

The state auditor released information from an auditor of the Iron County Sheriff’s Office when it was controlled by Jeff Burkett. The audit gives the office the lowest possible rating. The report outlines missing money, weapons, and unidentified evidence.
