The House has authorized a new type of state preserve to protect the 14 historic shipwrecks and one crashed airplane located in Indiana's portion of Lake Michigan.

Two West Michigan properties were added to the National Register of Historic Places, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced Tuesday.
