The late '90s and early millennium saw a string of 50s horror movies getting rebooted, including The Haunting, Thirteen Ghosts, and House on Haunted Hill. Thirteen Ghosts wasn't received favourably, but has since become a cult-classic. The Haunting remake was atrocious, but is still remembered, mainly because of how unintentionally hilarious it is.

Any fan of all things spooky will tell you that most romantic couples in horror movies are really anything but romantic. Typically, one partner is seen gaslighting the other or (sometimes literally) stabbing them in the back.
