SC Attorney General Alan Wilson joined other attorneys general from 18 other states Tuesday in calling on Costco to end its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, due to them allegedly violating state and federal anti-discrimination laws.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is calling on Costco to abandon its DEI policy. Last week the big box retailer Costco’s shareholders overwhelmingly voted down an investor proposal from a conservative think tank that it end its diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

A group of Republican attorneys general — including Kentucky’s Russell Coleman — is pressuring Costco “to end all unlawful discrimination imposed” by the retailer’s diversity, equity and inclusion policies.
