The Las Vegas Aces continue to retool the roster around reigning MVP A'ja Wilson. After failing to accomplish a three-peat, the Aces made a bold move in the offseason.

The WNBA offseason has taken some big turns lately. One of them was Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum being traded to the Los Angeles Sparks in a blockbuster three-team deal. Another was Connecticut Sun star Alyssa Thomas being sent to the Phoenix Mercury .

Thomas was designated as the team’s franchise player earlier this month, meaning the only way she could sign with another team was via trade. The move can't become official until Feb. 1.

The Phoenix Mercury is set to acquire Alyssa Thomas in a trade from the Connecticut Sun as the WNBA free agency period continues to heat up. The 32-year-old is a five-time All-Star and will join the Mercury officially on Feb.
