Pete Carroll is going to be the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders and some of his former players have had interesting reactions.

After a year away from football, Pete Carroll is back in the NFL as a head coach. The Las Vegas Raiders selected him as the replacement for Antonio Pierce, who was fired after just one season as the team’s full-time head coach (serving as the interim in 2023).

The word “culture” will be thrown around a lot when Carroll and Spytek are introduced, but "continuity" might be the bigger word.

The Raiders fired GM Tom Telesco and head coach Antonio Pierce after one full season that finished 4-13. The Raiders hired John Spytek earlier this week to replace Telesco as GM. Carroll is tasked with bringing stability to a franchise that has had three head coaches in three seasons after Pierce replaced Josh McDaniel in 2023.
