School districts across Northeast Ohio have canceled classes today as a precaution from the extreme cold that has settled over the region. Most of Northern Ohio is under a cold weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

Usually, SubZero Mission in Painesville plans on heading out to homeless camps with solely volunteers from Northeast Ohio. But due to the low temperatures forecast by 19’s F irst alert weather team, the SubZero group will have a certified nurse in case anyone that they come into contact with needs immediate help.

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - The Emergency Overnight Shelter saved dozens of people Sunday evening from the cold. A total of 56 people spent the night at the shelter located at 111 East Voris St. and woke up to a warm plate of breakfast and a hot cup of coffee.
