Former Miami star Cam Ward won the Manning Award on Wednesday as the nation's top quarterback and knows the accolade can be a springboard to good things at the next level.

Cam Ward's college football career got one more accolade Wednesday, when he was announced as the winner of the Manning Award.

A year ago, Mayfield was a late addition to the Pro Bowl but made a huge impact in the flag football game. He came off the bench to throw two touchdowns, including one to Lamb, his former Oklahoma teammate, to give the NFC a 55-53 lead near the end of the third quarter. That performance earned Mayfield the Most Valuable Offensive Player award.
