The Security Force Assistance Brigades (SFAB) are specialized U.S. Army units with the core mission to conduct assess, support, liaise and advise operations with allied and partner nations.

The policy allows promotable specialists who volunteer for an SFAB and complete the Military Advisor Training Academy (MATA) to automatically promote to sergeant regardless of cutoff score.
