The U.S. National Weather Service confirmed a tornado occurred in South Carolina during the weekend's severe weather outbreak.

There were no injuries or deaths reported in association with the Midlands tornado. Storms and tornadoes wreaked havoc across the South and lower Midwest during the weekend, in states such as Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Mississippi, as reported by NBC News.

On Tuesday, the NWS confirmed at least one more EF-1 tornado touched down in our area, taking Sunday's total to 5.
