An impassable travel advisory has been issued for Mobile County, urging drivers to stay off the roadways as of approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday County officials put out a notice that the general public should delay or suspend travel and only emergency vehicles should be on the roads at this time.

Snow was falling in New Orleans, where as much as 8 inches were expected to accumulate by the end of the day, threatening to tie a record set in 1895.

For the second time in two weeks snow is falling in Alabama, but on this occasion the weather event is targeted in the southern portion of the state. And, it’s bringing a rare snowfall to the sugar white beaches of Gulf Shores.
