Simon Harris' first engagement on Monday was at the Guildhall with Lilian Seenoi-Barr, who made history by becoming the first black mayor of a council in Northern Ireland back in June. He was taken on a tour of the city's historic walls, which date back to the 17th Century.

Ulster University has today welcomed An Taoiseach Simon Harris T.D. to its campus in Derry~Londonderry where he met with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Bartholemew to discuss the University’s vision for growth in higher education provision in the North West.

Simon Harris is set to make his first visit to Derry as Taoiseach to deliver the John Hume and Thomas P O’Neill Chair in Peace Lecture at Ulster University’s Magee campus. He will then visit the site of the new teaching and student services building being developed at the University of Ulster’s Derry campus through Shared Island funding.

The Taoiseach will meet political, civic society and community leaders and deliver a lecture at Ulster University.
