NASCAR is accusing basketball legend and businessman Michael Jordan of helping to operate an illicit scheme in which racing teams colluded to get better terms from the car racing organization. The lawsuit claimed that Jordan’s racing team,

NASCAR has now brought a counterclaim against the teams and Curtis Polk — a 23XI co-owner who has advised Jordan for decades.

NASCAR filed a countersuit against Michael Jordan's race team 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports on Wednesday, March 5 in response to a federal suit filed in October.

NASCAR sued 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, saying in court documents that the two companies want to eliminate the charter system.

Trial is tentatively scheduled for December as the antitrust suit grinds along. It began with 23XI and Front Row teams suing NASCAR over charter deal.

XI and Front Row Motorsports were the only two teams out of 15 that refused to sign new charter agreements, which were presented to the teams last September in a take-it-or-leave-it offer a mere 48 hours before the start of NASCAR's playoffs.

XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, made history by securing the top two starting positions at COTA.
