PALO ALTO COUNTY, Iowa — Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced Tuesday her office will prosecute a non-U.S. citizen over alleged voter fraud. 35-year-old Irving Omar Ahumada Geronimo was arrested and charged with two counts of Election Misconduct in the First Degree.

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird said her office is prosecuting a case of a non-U.S. citizen but legal resident arrested for alleged voter fraud in Palo Alto County.

At the time, the man was legally living in the U.S., but was not a U.S. citizen. The Iowa Attorney General's Office says he voted in a city council and school board election.
