Delhi Police has arrested and deported another group of 11 Bangladeshi immigrants living illegally in the national capital, continuing a series of crackdowns on unlawful foreign residents as directed by the Lieutenant Governor.

On Tuesday (31 December), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Southwest Delhi, Surendra Choudhary reported the arrest of a mother and son from Bangladesh. They had been residing in Delhi for almost 20 years and were detained on Sunday during a specific verification operation.

The mother and son were residing in Katwaria Sarai, where Nazma was employed as a domestic worker, according to a police official.

Delhi police identified over 25 illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and initiated their deportation. Authorities also dismantled a racket issuing fake Aadhaar cards. The initiative follows the directive of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena.
