LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Lubbock VFW has elected its first female commander - Air Force veteran Sarah Weede. She will make history when she is sworn in to lead the organization next month.

Lubbock VFW Commander Sarah Weede says this work is changing significantly from when she actively served, but more can be done. “As far as mental health services, it was very limited,” Weede said.
