WWE returned to NBC and Peacock with a thrilling edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The night featured a mix of past, present, and future stars of WWE. In the headline match, John Cena defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against R-Truth.

At Backlash, Cena put the WWE Championship on the line against Randy Orton in Orton's hometown of St. Louis. During the latter stages of the match while the referee was incapacitated Orton, was preparing to punt Cena in the head.

WWE's revival run of the iconic Saturday Night's Main Event show continued at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, with two major returns.
