Even though many people like to use the web version of WhatsApp, there are still some limitations to it compared to the mobile apps. Crucially, it’s not possible to make voice calls and video calls with contacts in WhatsApp Web.

In an update last month, WhatsApp changed how users can start a voice or video call within individual and group chats by adding a call dropdown menu for beta testers. Now, it seems WhatsApp is doing broader work on call features.

WhatsApp could soon get support for voice and video calls for its web client, as the feature is currently under development.
