Close to half of all Americans think that the U.S. government is hiding information about the existence of UFOs.

UAP and UFO sightings in the U.S. are particularly concentrated in the West, partially because of the abundance of dark sky locations, where it's easier to spot objects with less light pollution.

Political affiliation also influenced beliefs, with 48% of Republicans saying the government hides UFO information versus 39% of Democrats. Independents aligned more closely with Republicans at 44%.
