TSMC has begun building its third chip factory in Arizona. The news was announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce, which released a press statement about the development.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. completed construction of its second fab at its north Phoenix campus ahead of schedule.

Planned to be commissioned by the end of this decade, the third fab will produce chips using 2nm or more advanced processes.
