City Council Member Danny Sprank represents the ward where Schmitt Island sits. He said welcoming new residents and catering to those who live in the city is key when creating an island destination.

“If you could turn this little island into what I call the ‘Wisconsin Dells of Iowa,’ I think we’d be able to attract a lot of people,” said Dubuque City Councilmember Danny Sprank.
