The deadline to get a REAL ID is fast approaching after years of postponements and delays. Starting May 7, your license or identification card will need to be REAL ID-compliant to fly domestically in the U.

Behind on getting a Real ID compliant license? Fortunately, if you have a passport you can still fly domestically even without updating your license. If you don't have an approved ID, you risk TSA preventing you from traveling.

The state Motor Vehicle Commission will add more appointments on Real ID Tuesdays for air travelers who need the document that will be required on May 7.
