The Boston university's webpage formerly titled, "The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion," is now "Belonging in Northeastern."

In Boston, Northeastern University renamed a program for underrepresented students, emphasizing “belonging” for all. In New Jersey, a session at Rutgers University catering to students from historically Black colleges had to be abruptly canceled.

Under the looming threat of federal examination, Northeastern has replaced or dismantled nearly all of its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion messaging and websites.

Northeastern University has replaced its diversity and equity, including messages on its programs and websites, with more generic language. The steps come after President Donald Trump took action to remove DEI programs from the federal government and warned of investigations into DEI programs at educational institutes.
