At least six wildfires are actively burning across New Jersey as gusty winds, dry brush and low humidity provide fueling conditions for fire activity.

A wildfire burning across 2,000 acres in northern New Jersey and into New York state remains uncontained, according to the New Jersey

Crews continued battling several wildfires in and around northern New Jersey, including near Greenwood Lake, on Saturday. Fires have been breaking out across the state this week as the drought affecting the Tri-State Area stretches on.

The fire, the latest of several in the region over the weekend, had caused one death and was not contained as of Sunday afternoon, officials said.
