Roche will invest $50 billion in U.S. manufacturing, including a new plant in Indiana. The Trump administration is considering tariffs on drugmakers.

The pharma giant said the investment would create more than 12,000 jobs, as it joins rival Novartis in expanding its footprint in the country amid President Trump’s tariff threats.

April 22 (UPI) -- Biotechnology giant Roche said it will invest $50 billion into the United States over the next five years. Roche announced Monday that the financial effort will include new research and development sites, as well as both new and expanded manufacturing facilities.
