San Diego FC has turned Snapdragon Stadium into a fortress. The first-year club hasn’t lost at home yet. Now they have to figure out how to take that same kind of mentality on the road. SDFC was on its heels almost from the opening kickoff in a 3-2 loss in Colorado.

Yapi broke the tie in the 53rd minute, punching in a goal following two headers coming off a set piece. Rafael Navarro gave the Rapids some breathing room with his goal in the 60th minute. Tomás Ángel scored his first goal as a member of SDFC in the 89th minute, but San Diego could get no closer during the six minutes of extra time.

With the Rapids stuck in a rut trying to find consistent positive energy, and Kévin Cabral struggling to contribute to scoring, something had to change. And oh, did it.
