The Ellington boys basketball team won the Division IV championship 55-39 over Sheehan Sunday afternoon at Mohegan Sun to finish the season at 27-0.
He held over his head as the Ellington fans cheered and cheered, and there was relief and joy, all mixed together. It was Ellington’s first state championship in boys basketball since 1972.
