Discord CEO Jason Citron has resigned from the gaming chat company, and a former King executive will now take the reins ahead of a potential new IPO.

Humam Sakhnini will become the CEO of Discord on April 28, 2025, as co-founder Jason Citron moves into a board member and advisor role after 13 years of leading the company.

Discord co-founder and CEO Jason Citron is stepping down, and will be replaced by former Activision Blizzard vice chairman Humam Sakhnini. The announcement was made through a press release on the Discord website on Thursday (24 April). Citron also shared the news in a blog post on the website named Passing the Torch.
