About 100 dead cats were discovered in a Long Island home Saturday afternoon after fire crews responded to reports of a foul stench coming from the building, according to Suffolk County authorities.

Animal rescuers were desperately seeking assistance Monday after nearly 70 cats, including newborn kittens, were found in a Long Island home over the weekend, along with 28 dead ones.
