DALLAS - Dallas Police have identified a man who was shot and killed before 5 a.m. Saturday morning. Officers were called to a shooting in the 9000 block of Soverign Row, which is off of John Carpenter Freeway near Regal Row.

Dallas police officers shot and critically wounded a man who waved a gun at drivers and pointed the weapon at officers on Tuesday afternoon, the department said. The shooting occurred about 3:20 p.m. in the 11000 block of Joaquin Drive in northeast Dallas, after police arrived to investigate reports of the man waving his gun at motorists.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 11:45 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 5300 block of Botham Jean Blvd, Dallas police said in a press release. Investigators found a person was shot by an unknown suspect in a parked car, the release states.
