The Who didn’t really gain much popularity in the U.S. until 1969, when they released the album “Tommy” and played at Woodstock. By the time they released “Who’s Next” in 1971, they were one of the biggest bands in the world, filling stadiums.
Legendary rock band announces farewell tour: ‘All good things must come to an end’
The Who announced its “The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour” dates Thursday, including two concerts in New York state. Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend will reunite for shows on Aug. 28 at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, Long Island, and Aug. 30 at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
