Ashford, who has one year of eligibility left, told ESPN on Sunday. Winston-Salem, North Carolina (where Wake Forest is located) is only about two and a half hours north of Columbia, South Carolina.

NC State officials did not specify the exact nature of Ashford’s injury, nor what his recovery time will look like. The team medical staff will continue to monitor his health going forward.
